Can I improve my fuel economy?
There are some things you can do to improve your fuel economy. Modern diesel engines can be made far more efficient by improving exhaust flow and enhancing standard fuel settings.
A great way to do this is with a Steinbauer computer chip and a Taipan exhaust. You can expect up to 10% better fuel economy and 20% more power and torque.
How can I improve the handling of my 4wd?
Standard suspension is built to a compromise; it offers very little to people who use their vehicle for towing or carrying heavy loads.
There are many ways to improve your vehicle's carrying ability, comfort, handling and, above all, safety. Book in for a free comprehensive report on your vehicles suspension.
How much will it cost to service my vehicle?
It's very hard to know in advance how much a particular service will cost. Unless your car has travelled less than 40000km and only been driven on bitumen there can be costs that are not anticipated.
The best thing to do is for us to check and report on your vehicle before any work is performed. This way we can offer you the best service available with no surprise bill at the completion of the service.
Sometimes repairs or items can wait until the following service to be done. By reporting on your vehicles needs it keeps you in the loop if there are things coming up for replacement, e.g. brake pads or tyres.
Is SG OFFROAD open on Saturday?
Our Wonthaggi showroom at 136 Mckenzie St is open from 9am until 12 on Saturday mornings.
Our Leongatha showroom is not open on Saturdays.
What spares should I carry?
Being prepared is a must. The most important spares are Radiator hoses, fan belts, water, some wire, fuses, globes, cable ties, tyre repair kit, recovery kit, compressor and a good tool kit.
Most important is to get a thorough pre-trip service and inspection before leaving on your holiday.
Prevention is always better.
Which driving lights would you recommend?
Driving safely on Australian roads at night does require extra light. The best thing to do is to call in and check out our range of IPF lights. We have all types of lights from standard halogen globes up to the latest LED technology.
It's important to match the light to your budget and your specific requirements.
